Just about a year ago

I think she was just out of the bath or changing or something. I scooped her up to keep her warm since she was running around in a diaper. I remember thinking, this will be someone else in a year's time. She fell asleep in my arms and it was a feeling I figured I could get used to - looking at a lovely snoozing little girl just happy to be cuddled and able to nap.

Now she's running around and talking - same mischeveous smile as her older brother - and it's a different baby falling asleep with me each night.  Time flies.

  1. Perhaps I'm overly emotional today but this post makes me want to cry. I'm already wanting to stop the clock and hold onto these sweet cuddle moments. I have to remind myself every day to live in the moment.

  2. Every time I start to get exhausted from keeping her entertained during the day or frustrated when she wakes up so soon after settling down to sleep, I'm prodded by the thought of how fleeting this time is and I'm straight back to cherishing the moments with her again.
